Fakes, Egomaniacs, Aspiring Actors: Another Youtube Star Exposed

I usually don’t watch youtube videos of people who blog about their personal life’s. I remember watching Lonelygirl15 first few videos on youtube (Since they were on the most discussed) but more than that I remember watching a video in which a professional photographer exposed her by explaining that the lighting, sets, editing were too perfect for a amature to achieve. No one took him seriously and the video got lost some where( I don’t have the link to it If someone finds it please let me know). After her phenomenal success I was not surprised that she was exposed as a fake.
Youtube is becoming another myspace with a large number of sad/pathetic people who waste their time and life. The worst part is they are all so blind even after being exposed some people say stuff like “you rock Girl, even if its fake”.
I am not against any show or video that are fake but the difference between these videos and a T.V show etc is that in a T.V show you know or they tell you it’s fake but here these people lie to you and setup the stage to con you. Of course this has nothing to do with me, if people feel that whats happening at youtube is OK then that just too sad. The fact is youtube stars build up a large number of fans anf if you see some of the responses as videos these videos get its amazing. Its just sad that these people think that the person that he/she is interacting is a real person. For example look at this guy here who responds to one of LUCYinLA videos. I think youtube should put up a new policy wherein a user’s account will get discarded if he/she is found to guilty or conning/setting up other users.
After the exposure of Lonelygirl15. I was doing a search for “exposed” on youtube when I turned up on another exposure on another youtube star LUCYinLA who is supposedly an accountant in LA and seems to have a lot of free time to record her videos inside the office.
This time the exposure has been done a professional Producer/Director who is also the the Owner, Producer/Director of BergVision Studios. He has over 15 years of experience working in TV/Video and film. he has also spent 6 years in LA California as a NLE editor, camera operator, grip, etc. Just watch the video as he explains step by step why LUCYinLA is another fake youtube star. One of his best quotes in the video are
“It reminds of the movie with Jim Carey called “The Truman Show” only in this case you people are the experiment, and you people the viewers are the ones who are being duped and not the actor and the program”

Ok, first off!! Why? But Why? I mean it’s their life, they can do whatever they want with it rite? :-/
And… dude, I mean, u still have to appreciate the creativity behind the whole thing! Consider it as a serial and boom, it makes perfect sense and independent vdo category comes into my mind :-P!!
I still don’t understand wat’s the big deal about this :-D!! Enlighten me please!!

. Also apprently it is a big thing for people abroad. I mean Lonleygirl15 has been featured in a number of top T.V shows etc.

See the thing is, if they can live with the amount of suing now gonna ensue, in case it’s misleading the people, I am sure, we need not bother about ;-)! hehehe!!
But, yeah the vdo of the analysis, albeit interesting, seemed more of a waste of time and money and effort than the fakes themselves ;-)!

It just doesn’t have to be this way you know. I mean why? WHY?? would people cannot think before they post something?
May be Guru’s thoughts are right why would one give a damn about it? Afterall that’s their life.
Then again, Guru, the point your rat brain didn’t catch is that there are people in this world who think that they can make the world a better place. They think by showing some of the mistakes idiots are making, they can help those poor sods to have a better life, a higher intelligence. But the poor sods never get the message right. Why? Because for some bizzare inexplicable reason there are people like you who preserver their brain without ever using it even for a simple task. Beats me.

So they made some videos featuring actors/actresses and put them on YouTube. So what? If you think everything on YouTube is real, you are a sucker anyway.
The last time I checked, YouTube did not present itself as a place for people to put “real” videos. Why should they make it that way now? The makers of these videos (in some circles they’d be called “short films”) are just putting up entertainment.
Should the makers of “reality” shows get shunted off the TV stations? There is so little reality in those shows. They are a bigger scam on their audience then “Lonely Girl” could ever hope to be.

Um…tell me one TV show that is called “Reality TV”, and I will tell you, as an insider how much “truth” the producers are tellin you.
Why don’t you go complaining to ABC, NBC, MTV etc. They all do it. Its called in the biz “lightly scripted”.
Trust me. The only reason people are so pissed about this lonelygirl chick and others…and by the way, why are grown men sitting around watching young girls talk about shit…oh yeah…they’re perves. YouTube is not a quest for the truth. Its an entertainment venue with the same standards and need of any TV Channel. Whatever works!!

Im no Youtube fan. I dont hate it either.
Like Mattbear said youtube is just a place where one can watch videos. And if someone wants to get their 15 minutes of fame by conning someone, i say let em.
I have to agree with SoCalCat on this one.
If anyone of you were to tell me that all these reality shows are unscripted and you arent getting conned by watching them, i have news for you, everyone of these so called ‘reality shows’ are scripted. No one talks about them because of something called the Non Disclosure Agreement(NDA) No one wants to be in court and loose 5 million!
