This is a list of the new ten best Free WordPress Templates available on the Internet. WordPress is an amazing open source blogging platform. Which means anyone out there on the internet can take it and use or modify it. One of the best things about WordPress is the large number of free templates available. In fact there are so many free templates available for WordPress that it has become overwhelming to find the best quality templates. I have tried my best to collect the best free WordPress templates available out there. A lot of great designer and programmer are out there, who have spent there time and effort to develop these free WordPress templates. I see a lot of people using the same free templates over and over again hopefully this will help you discover new free templates available for WordPress. Even though I am listing only the best free WordPress templates you can always go through the website of the author who designed these free WordPress templates and discover more quality templates. Most of the templates here are rated according to their design in fact if you compare their features they might not score so high. But you can always modify them to suit your own need. For example K2 is great template with support for a huge variety of plug-ins by default. With out further ado I present you the ten best free WordPress templates.

I have tried my best to select templates that follow the latest design trends and those that follow unconventional design techniques. The free wordpress templates are not given in any particular order or rating.

Fluid Solution is a 3 column WordPress theme made from a template provided by Arcsin. It supports widgets and is yet another clean , simple theme which you can try out for your blog. from kaushalsheth

Typography is 2 column WordPress theme in shades of white and green with right sidebar and as usual supports widgets. The most striking part of this theme is it that it doesn’t use any kind of images. The design was developed by Jaykay of Sixshootermedia. Give it a try. Its really a cool theme. from kaushalsheth

Origami Theme/Template for WordPress is cool green wordpress theme/template which uses SIFR Technique to enhance th fonts shown in the theme. The great thing about this theme is that in the top bar there is a option to switch between fluid and fixed layout , Increment font size move the colums right or left.

Balance is clean and nice looking wordpress theme from thoughtmechanics The highlight of this theme is the the collapsible and expandable menu on the top. A very clean wordpress theme/Template with an unconventional layout.

Foliage is a WordPress theme created and distributed by 5thirtyone. One of the only dark themes that made into these wordpress themes. It also has a few cool hidden features like the expandable menu on top.

This is another Sixshootermedia Css Template converted into a wordpress theme/Template by negative99. A very clean looking layout.

A great wordpress theme/template with a ton of features inbuilt and built for blogs with multiple authors. Built by glued ideas it is one of the best wordpress templates out there. For a complete list of features look here

Flight WordPress theme/Template by fahlstad is a clean template without seeming very garish.

Hemingway Pearl is a beautiful mod of the original Hemmingway WordPress theme/Template. Though if you’re not a fan of red you could always change the colors to suit your needs.

  3. While I’m not a design afficionado, some of the themes you’ve listed are quite garish. Though, I do like a few of them (that’s only my personal opinion though).

  39. @lea and Orko hello lea I am from the scribez blog. Unfortunatly you cannot install those wordpress themes on wordpress.com but you can install theme if you if own your own wordpress websites. The best option now is that if you like any of the given themes you can request the wordpress team to put it up. using the contact form

  45. Hi,
    I really like a vast majority of the themes posted and discussed here but I wondering if are there any themes for wordpress that are not column list formats? even some of the more unique themes like Hemmingway are still based on a 2,3 or 4 coulum set of lists with header footer.

    Does anyone know of a row list wordpress theme? or any other common way of organizing information?

  46. Some good choices here. I just recently switched mine to a new one. I like it, but not crazy about all the serif fonts. Trying to preview it with CSS changes but hasn’t worked for me yet. Still playing around with it.

  60. There are way far more better themes than just only these, such as ocadia or Shaded Grey. From your top 10 list, probably 2-3 is truly considered top 10, the rest, I don’t think so.

However, being that I like to do things my way, I didn’t use any part of their theme in creating mine. I basically reverse-engineered the look and layout in photoshop, sliced and diced, then put the template together the way I like to have it. This is not to say in any way that there is anything wrong with their template, code, etc., but simply because I’m the type of person that can’t stand to not have things done EXACTLY the way I like them. [...] এটা একটা দারুন ওয়ার্ডপ্রেস থিম। এই সাইটে গিয়ে পেলাম থিমটা। এটাই এখন পর্যন্ত দেখা একমাত্র থিম যেটাতে একই সাথে দুটো ভিন্ন লেআউট আছে  এবং অবাক করা বিষয় এতে .po ল্যাঙগুএজ ফাইল আছে যেটি ওয়ার্ডপ্রেস লোকালাইজেশনে ব্যবহৃত হয়। অথাৎ থিমটি নিজেস্ব ভাষায় লোকালাইজ করা যাবে ( প্রয়োজন হলে লোকালাইজেশন পদ্ধতি জানিয়ে দেব )। থিমটি ইনস্টল এবং এ্যাকটিভ করারপর এ্যাডমিন প্যানেলে গেলে Presentation থেকে এই থিমের বেশ কয়েকটি অপশন পাওয়া যাবে। দুটি ভিন্ন রকম স্টাইল সিলেক্ট করা যাবে। আপনার পছন্দের হেডার আপলোড করা যাবে 820 x 145 pixels এ। এছাড়াও আরও নানা অপশন রয়েছে এতে। থিমটির আনকমপ্রেসড সাইজ 743 KB হলেও এত দারুন থিমের জন্য সেটা কোন বিষয়ই না। আর এতে দারুন সব আইকন ও রয়েছে। এটা মাল্টিইউজার ব্লগের জন্য বিশেষভাবে তৈরী। [...]
